In our creative studio and in-house boutique manufacturing, we rethink the hotel slipper and explore what else felt can become.
Influenced by modernist architecture and the quiet restraint of Japanese aesthetics, we play with textures, compositions, light and space.
We enjoy combining contemporary thinking with age-old craft techniques to create washable felt slippers and other unforgettable soft objects designed to belong in independent, design-conscious hotels — and in everyday life.
CARE, BUILT IN
For us, sustainability is not something added at the end. It is built into the material, the way an object is made and how long it can remain in use. Good design can also inspire new behaviour: washing instead of discarding and using only what is needed.
We work with felt created from recycled plastic bottles, regenerated woollen garments and responsibly sourced virgin wool. Whenever possible, we choose undyed felt, allowing the natural colour, texture and story of the fibres to remain visible while helping reduce water use and dye-related pollution. Our recycled felts are GRS-certified, our virgin wool is RWS-certified, and production follows the 4sustainability® protocol.
Across our community of more than 80 partner hotels in Europe and beyond, 67% wash and reuse their slippers, with each pair completing an average of seven wash-and-reuse cycles.

FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
KAAITA is led by Alenka Repic. Economist by profession, but bored to death by the classical economic models and phrases like competitive race, open capital market and battle for customers, Alenka passionately believes that we all could be winners. That nature and environment are important business partners, and that there is no greater machine than positively fired-up brain matter, paired with the skillful fingers of a craftsman.
HEAD OF STUDIO
KAAITA’s studio is held together by Sara. A textile and fashion designer by profession, but far too curious to stay within the boundaries of one discipline, she leads manufacturing and turns ideas into products. Calm, grounded and seemingly unflappable, Sara is Alenka’s right hand and trusted thinking partner, quietly stitching together materials, people and all the loose ends. Her knowledge of textiles and love of exploring techniques give KAAITA’s visual language room to flourish.
HEAD OF DETAILS
KAAITA’s details are in Maša’s hands. Every single one of them. A textile and fashion designer by profession, she makes sure slippers are sewn perfectly, orders leave on time and the studio stays beautifully organised. Exceptionally precise, reliable and attentive to people, Maša sees not only what an object is, but what else it could become—preferably without starting from scratch. Her minimalist eye and resourcefulness feel naturally at home in KAAITA’s world.
